Elias Saba

Elias Saba (Abu Mahmoud), 82, of Allentown passed away Saturday, April 25th 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest in the arms and warmth of family. Born in Zwaitiny, Syria on August 1st, 1932, he was the son of the late Salim and Karrouje Saba.

Survivors: Elias is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Wajiha (Hanna) Saba, sister Khasanta of Syria, and 8 children of Allentown: Ibrahim (Faten Bitar), Joseph (Izdihar Barhoum), Ghanda (Samir) Nimeh, Lina (Georges) Bitar, George (Sana Elias), Waiel, Salim , and Mechella. He will forever be remembered by his 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Elias was preceded to eternal life by his father, mother, three brothers and two sisters.

Services: Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28th and 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday April 29th at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasaqua Ave., Allentown. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the church, after which he will be laid to rest at Laurel Cemetery. The family is being served by the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
