Joseph "Dick" Dickerman
Joseph (Dick) Dickerman died peacefully at home on April 1st, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born and grew up in NYC. After serving in the Philippines in the Army Air Force during WWII, he attended New York University, receiving a B.S. (summa cum laude) and M.A. Dick and Bunny married and eventually moved to Allentown in 1961. Dick managed Allentown Record Company and worked for a number of other local companies. Dick was active in the local theatre companies as an actor and director. His joy was long distance bicycle riding in the US and abroad. He did a charity ride from Maine to Florida and rode solo from Minneapolis to Allentown, Chicago to Allentown and throughout Europe. He also rode solo back and forth to Long Beach Island. He rode his bicycle until his 88th year.
Survivors: Wife, Bunny, daughters, Ilene of Philadelphia and Wendy of Scottsdale, AZ, four granddaughters, Hannah of Allentown, Melissa of Tokyo, Katra of Las Vegas and Leah of Florida. He also has five great-grandchildren.
Services: Family and friends are welcome to their home, 133 S. Miller St, Allentown, on Saturday, April 4th from 3-5pm, to celebrate Dick's life.
