Panagiotis Sarantidis

Panagiotis A. Sarantidis, 87, of Allentown, died at his home in the company of his loving wife and family. He was the husband of Sapfo (Koutsavli) Sarantidis. They were married 56 years last November. Born in Filia, Mytilene, Greece, he was a son of the late Aristos and Dorothea (Proistou) Sarantidis.
Panagiotis had done agricultural work in Greece as well as operating a "Kafenio" (coffee shop), and after coming to Allentown, worked as a shoe maker at Quaker Shoe Factory in East Allentown before retiring. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Bethlehem.
Survivors: Wife; daughters Dorothea Kotsakis and husband Spiros of Coplay, Paraskevi Teloniatis and husband Christos of Allentown, Christina Sarantidis and fiancee Takis Papaioannou of Broomall; brother Konstantinos Sarantidis of Allentown; sisters Maria Kazazis and Efpraxia Marmaros both of Filia, Mytilene, Greece; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his 14 year old brother Dimitrios.
Services: Monday, 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem. Viewing will be held Sunday evening, 5-7 p.m. at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 Hamilton St., Allentown with Trisagion at 6:00. Additional calling hour from 10-11 Monday in the Cathedral. Interment to follow services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
