Elias "Abo Tarek" Dayoub

Elias "Abo Tarek" Dayoub, of Allentown, died Thursday at Sacred Heart Hospital.  He was the husband of Alice (Issa) Dayoub for 60 years.  Born in Syria, he was a son of the late Abraham and Susan Dayoub.  He worked at Phoenix Clothes from 1971 to 1985 and also owned and operated T & D Sportswear in Allentown until 1991.  Abo Tarek was a great guy, a beloved husband, wonderful grandfather and friend to all.  Many thought of him as their own father or grandfather.  He always welcomed everybody and opened his home to anyone who needed anything.

Survivors:  wife; sons Tarek, Taleh (Tyler) and George; daughters Sonia, Sahar and Gladys; brother Michael and sister Emilene both of Syria; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a brother Tony.

Services:  Viewing starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (tomorrow) followed by funeral service at 11:30; St. George Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., Allentown.  Interment at Laurel Cemetery.  Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
