George J. Koury

George J. Koury, age 90, of Bethlehem passed away April 25th at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. He was the husband of Mounifa (Sayegh) Koury. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John G. and Affife Koury. He received a PhD from the university of Michigan, and was a professor at the University of Minnesota for many years. Mr. Koury was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war. He, along with his wife, are long time members of St. George Orthodox Church in Allentown.

He is survived by his wife Mounifa; daughters Mona Koury-Elias of Bethlehem and Valerie Stoury of Michigan; sons John Koury of Allentown and Victor Koury of Bethlehem; grandchildren Lamese, Keenaan, Skye, George, Omar, Victor, Alexandra, and John Thomas.

Services: viewing on Wednesday, May 1st starting at 9:00 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., Allentown with funeral service at 11:00. Interment following at Laurel Cemetery, Whitehall. The family will receive condolences in the church on Monday, April 29th from 5-7 p.m.
