William I. Huber
William I. Huber, 85, of Allentown passed away peacefully on October 16th at his home. Born in Catasauqua in 1936, he was a son of the late Allen and Mae (Wright) Huber. He graduated from Wm. Allen High school in 1955. Early on he worked for several local builders, then operated a home improvement company with his brother Charles for several years. After that he operated his own home improvement company for many years. The last 25 years of his career were spent building homes and guest housing as well as keeping all the rooms and buildings well maintained at the Glasbern Inn. He was proud of his work at the Inn and always spoke fondly of his time there. Even after he retired at 78 he couldn’t sit still and helped found a new company and spent many happy hours at fairs and other events making countless new friends along the way. He was a kind soul who was happiest when he was helping others. He touched many lives along the way and will be sorely missed. He attended First Baptist Church, Allentown.
Mr. Huber is survived by his son David Huber of Allentown; daughter Lisa and husband Brian Hoffner of Catasauqua; sister Evelyn Knauss of Fellowship Community and Nancy Laudenslager of Texas; grandchildren Amy Rivera, Brian Epting and Christine Bevan, Dylan Huber and Dominique Huber; five great grandchildren.
