Richard Olenwine

Richard Olenwine, 81 years old of Trexlertown, PA passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021. He is reunited with his beloved wife Sandra of 51 years, who passed away 9 years ago. Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Wilbur C. Olenwine and Mae Becker.

Richard served in the United States Navy for four years and was a proud union member all his life at Everson Electric, Mack Trucks, and finally at Air Products Corporation until he retired in 2004. His favorite position came after retirement when he served as an Usher at Coca-Cola Park, home of the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. He was an avid baseball fan and loved the Phillies and Iron Pigs. He was also a lifelong Phildelphia Eagles fan.

Richard was survived by his sister Nancy Parsells of Raleigh, North Carolina and his five children Gregory (Michele) Olenwine of Allentown; Donna Buster of Trexlertown; Terry (Holly) Olenwine of Schnecksville; Joseph (Jennifer) Olenwine of Denver, Colorado; and Lori (John) Silvis of Strongsville, OH. He was proud to be Pop-Pop to his nine grandchildren- the late Krista Buster, Janine Ulmer, Katrina and Marissa Olenwine, Caroline, Rebecca and Ryan Silvis, Ellie and Cooper Olenwine, and one great grandchild, Nadia Ulmer.

There will be a calling hour between 2-3 pm on Saturday, January 16th at St. Peter’s Union Church, located at 7863 St. Peter’s Road in Macungie, PA, followed by a private family service. Visitors will be required to wear masks and maintain social distance. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
