Joseph G. Salloum

Joseph G. Salloum, of Whitehall, passed away on January 28, 2018 at Temple University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Zwaitini, Syria on September 5, 1945, he was the son of Gergie Asaad Salloum & Azizeh Nader Makhoul (deceased). For 43 years, he lived and worked in Chekka, Lebanon prior to immigrating with his family to the United States in 1987. He worked in the textile industry and most recently for A-Treat Bottling Company in Allentown before retiring in 2016. Joseph was predeceased by his brother Elias G. Salloum.

He is survived by his wife, Georgette Makhoul Salloum, to whom he was married for 43 years; Sons: Tony J. Salloum (Laurie) of Orefield and Wassim J. Salloum (Taiba) of Palmer Township; Daughter: Dr. Azizeh Salloum-Cruz (Brandon) of Cherry Hill, NJ; Nine grandchildren: Dominique, Joseph, Juliana, Josiah, Olivia, Salma, Chloe, Nathanial, and Vivian. He is also survived by his brother, Mikaheal G. Salloum, of Chekka, Lebanon and many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family.

Joseph was a hard working and respectful man who dedicated his life to sacrificing for his family and children. He lived by two simple principles, respect others and maintain your own dignity.

Family and friends can pay their respects and condolences Wednesday evening From 7:00 to 9:00 and Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00, with funeral starting at 11:00.  All services at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Avenue, Allentown, PA 18102.
