Vincent A. Rush, III
Vincent A. Rush, III, of Leesport, passed away peacefully Nov. 3 at his home. Born in Evergreen Park Illinois, he was a son of Joyce Porter and the late Vincent A. Rush, Jr.
Vince worked for over 25 years in the Berks County Communications (911) Center, starting as a dispatcher and most recently working as the Computer Aided Dispatch Administrator, and the county's Emergency Management Coordinator. Prior to that he was a police officer for Topton and Kutztown Boroughs. He was a Leesport borough councilman since 2005. Mr. Rush enjoyed playing in several pool leagues in Berks County, and was a graduate of Penn State University. He was a U.S. veteran, serving as captain in the Air Force Reserves.Mother Joyce Porter of Prospect, KY; sisters Deborah Peck also of Prospect and Patricia Rush of Brooklyn, NY; Brothers Patrick of Allentown and John of Breinigsville; three nieces, four nephews and one great nephew.
Services: viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, followed by a service at 11:00 in the church. Committal at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
