Richard K. Eberly, Sr.

 Richard K. Eberly, Sr., 83, of Coopersburg, died March 26 at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.  He was the husband of Patricia L. (Babb) Eberly, they were married 57 years last October.  Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Howard Eberly Sr. and Clara (Hettinger) Eberly. 

Richard was a manager at various Acme Markets in the Lehigh Valley area for 40 years, and after retiring worked for Driveline Retail Merchandising and the SPAR Group as a merchandiser for over 10 years. 
He was active at First Baptist Church Allentown, where he was a deacon and longtime Sunday School teacher.
He served in the National Guard, then the U.S. Army as a Tank Commander and instructor for new recruits during the Korean conflict.
 
Survivors:  wife Patricia; sons Richard Jr. of Allentown and fiancee Monica Kidd, Larry of Coopersburg; brother Howard Jr. of Florida; sisters LaRue Huber of Florida and Catherine Grieff of Reading; grandchildren Richard III, Logan, Tara, wife of Scott Bradley, and Elizabeth James. 
 
Services:  memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, First Baptist Church of Allentown, 1808 N. 19th St., Allentown 18104.  Call from 10 to 11 in the church.  The Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home is assisting the family.
