Dr. Joseph Nader

On Tuesday February 2, 2021, Dr. Joseph Nader M.D. passed away in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. He passed away of natural causes, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and devoted caregivers. He was only a few weeks away from his 88th Birthday. 

 

Dr. Nader was a Cardiologist and Internist who practiced medicine uninterrupted for over 50 years in the Lehigh Valley. Medicine was his life and passion and he was deeply committed to serving and caring for the people of his community, no matter their circumstances. 

 

He was born a twin with two brothers and two sisters in a small town in Colombia to Lebanese immigrant parents. He attended the prestigious Javeriana University Medical School, in Bogota, Colombia and went on to Philadelphia for advanced medical training at the University of Pennsylvania finishing his residency at Hahnemann University Medical Center.

 

He wrote a book about his own struggles, sacrifices and journey to become a doctor; the book is titled “The Price to be a Doctor” and was published in both English and Spanish. 

 

Hi is survived in the U.S. by his wife of 57 years, Agnes his two sons Joseph, 54, and Edmond, 53 along with his older sister Helen and Younger sister Nazira residing in Colombia.
