Ruth Ondreah Johnson

Ruth Ondreah Johnson, 60, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice in Allentown, PA after a 2-year struggle with breast cancer.  She is survived by her parents, Helen and Marvin DeMond, aunt Frances McLaughlin, sister Elizabeth (David Jenkins) Johnson, brother Robert (Kim Kiser) Johnson, stepbrother Jeff (Helene) DeMond, stepsister Jeanne (Steve) Hirsch, her nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved cats.

Ruth Ondreah was born June 22, 1958 in Newark, NJ and grew up in Morristown. She attended Morristown High School and County College of Morris where she received her Associate’s degree in nursing.  She worked as an RN in orthopedics before switching to home care nursing, which better fit her passion for integrative medicine and advocacy for patient involvement in their own treatment. Trained in a variety of holistic modalities, she brought an expansive range of healing expertise to her patients. Her diverse spiritual practices included Native American traditions and Heart Rhythm Meditation, from which she received great comfort and spiritual energy.  Vibrant and full of life, Ondreah and her free spirit will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home,
1227 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA (610-433-2200)
on Friday evening, January 4th from 6 – 8 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5th at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 29 Hillview Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ.
