Peter C. "Pete" Larson

Peter Christian "Pete" Larson of Macungie died February 19, 2013 at the Phoebe Home in Allentown after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.  Pete was born in Johnstown, PA on July 1, 1931, the son of the late Hugo and Esthena (Randolph) Larson.  He graduated from Penn State University in 1953 and joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He worked in the asphalt industry for Frank B. Saylor Company; Lake Asphalt and the Sun Company from where he retired. 
Following retirement, he and his wife Carole owned the Wild Bird Center at the Village West Shopping Center, Allentown for many years.  He had been a longtime member of the Saucon Valley Country Club where he enjoyed his golf. 


Survivors:  He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Carole; his sons Jon of Emmaus and Jess and his wife Sandra of Phoenixville; his former wife Jane Saylor Larson of Las Cruces, NM; step sons Bruce McKiel of Allentown and Colin McKiel and his wife Lesley of Bridgeton, North Carolina; step-grandchildren Whitney Wagner and her husband Bret, and Adam Paul McKiel; two step great-grandchildren, Taylor Lynn and Caden Jace Wagner; his brother Paul and his wife Betty as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother Hugo Larson and sister Nell Joanne Telleen.

Services:  11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown.  A viewing for friends and family from 10:00 to 11:30 followed by the service at the funeral home.
