Robert Schilling, Jr.
Robert Schilling, Jr., 77, of Macungie, died June 14 at HCR Manor Care, Allentown. He was the husband of Catherine M. "Kit" (Zeppenfelt) Schilling. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert and Elsie (Baus) Schilling.
Bob was a true American entrepreneur, founder of Robert Schilling, Jr., Inc. and United Masons, Inc., an open-shop masonry contracting firm. He was a member of many business organizations, listed in Who's Who in Executives National Directory and on the U.S. Senatorial Business Advisory Board in Washington, D.C. He started Progressive Business Brokers, and later became a commercial real estate agent for Legend Properties, Inc. and Century 21, Keim Realtors.
An active member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, Bob served as a Deacon, an Elder, on the Missions Committee and twelve years with Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserve serving eight years in the Seabees Division.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Robert III of Hereford, John and wife Kara of Arizona, Matthew and wife Tracy of Florida; daughters Susan K. Hannah of Virginia, Diane C. Schilling of Walnutport; sister-in-law Regina Bruchok and husband William of Allentown; grandchildren Elizabeth and Andrew Hannah of Virginia, Gaylen Roberts and wife Soomi of California, Sydney and Zachary Schilling of Florida; sisters June Fatzinger and husband Martin of Bethlehem, Nancy Brosky and husband Stephen of Allentown, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Bob will be greatly missed by his entire extended family and all those that called him "friend."
Services: Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Friday July 6, First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, Cedar Crest & Tilghman Streets. Call 10:00 a.m. until the service.
