Eva White Sheesley
Eva White Sheesley, 88, of Breinigsville and Skytop, passed away August 13 at Saucon Valley Manor. Born in Wilkes Barre, she was a daughter of the late Donald C. and Zareta White, and wife of the late Robert Adams Sheesley. Eva attended Penn State University where she met her husband, Bob. They married in Johnstown in 1948 and relocated to Allentown as newlyweds for Bob to expand his family’s business: Sheesley Supply Co. in the Lehigh Valley.
She is fondly remembered for her creativity and bold sense of style. She was a collector of art and antiques, and was a board member and past president of the Baum School of Art, Allentown. In her later years, she volunteered at the Good Shepherd Home in Allentown for their Art Club.
Survivors include her daughters, Anne and Martha Sheesley of Annapolis, MD, Ellen (Geoffrey) Carey of Tryon, NC, Linda (Roland) Baisch of Stuttgart, Germany and son Robert (JoAnn) Sheesley of Breinigsville; sister Zareta Honsburger of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren are Adrianne Saba, Geoffrey Carey, Emily Carey, Vanessa Baisch, Sam Baisch, Olivia Sheesley, Margaret (Tyler) Powell and Lillian (Priam) Chun. Great grandchildren are Leona and Turner Powell and Julian Chun. She was predeceased by her daughter Sara Sheesley and brother Donald C. White, Jr.
Services: A memorial service commemorating her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 16 at the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman St., Allentown. Calling hour from 10:30 to 11:30 in the church.
